What are the components of a typical NetStream system?
A typical NetStream system is consist of 3 parts, which are NDE(NetStream Data
Exporter), NSC(NetStream
Collector)and NDA(NetStream Data
Analyzer).
• NDE
NDE classifies Internet flow by seven key fields, pick up flow which corresponds with conditions and sends this statistics to NSC device. The device configured NetStream plays the role of NDE in NetStream system.
• NSC
NSC is a application program, which is used to resolve the message from NDE and collect statistics to database for NDA resolving. NSC can collect statistics from several NDE devices.
• NDA
NDA is an analyzer of Internet flow, which picks up statistics from NSC for further processing and generates report forms to provide evidence for different business (e.g. flow accounting, network design, attack detection).NDA can pick up statistics from several NSC. Usually, NDA has Graphical user view which is convenient for users to obtain, display and analyse collected data.
NSC and NDA can be integrated to a NetStream sever.
