Problem Description

MSR 810 does not save date and time after configuration saved and reboot. While customer want to keep the real time after cold reboot.

Process Analysis

For MSR G2 Series router,  Above MSR 26 Including MSR 26 are equipped with built-in independent clock. While for the MSR which is below the MSR 26 have no built-in independent clock. That means the MSR 810 will not keep the real time after cold rebooting.

Solution

we can only set the time relatively close to the real data automatically once the device reboot with the help of EAA.

The configuration is following:

[H3C]

#

rtm cli-policy 1

event interface NULL0 monitor-obj tx-pps start-op le start-val 0 restart-op lt restart-val 0 interval 120

action 10 cli clock datetime 15:42:35 2021/1/21

user-role network-admin

user-role network-operator

#

[H3C-rtm-1]

[H3C-rtm-1]

[H3C-rtm-1]com

[H3C-rtm-1]commit

Then save the configuration, the time would always be set as 15:42:35 2021/1/21 once the device reboot in the future.

One thing should be noticed that the clock protocol must be set to “none”, in order for this to work.
