A server connects to two different storage devices through the BX608FE upstream ports, so that the server can connect to huawei SAN and NATB SAN. The BX608FE uses NPV mode rather than FCF mode
Our B5700 server can only connect with Huawei SAN or NATB SAN but we want our B5700 to connect with Huawei SAN & NATB SAN simultaneously. As per my findings BX608-FE automatically maps downlink interface (FC1/0/1) with uplink interface( FC1/1/1). If we manually map downlink interface (FC1/0/1) with two uplink interface (FC1/1/1 & FC 1/1/2) can we get the required connectivity.
As we know, NPV mode is the most compatible, so it can be connected to other manufacturers' switches and storage devices. However, in NVP mode, one downlink cannot be mapped to multiple uplinks in a fabric unless the customer can add the NATB SAN and HUAWEI SAN to the same fabric.
But even if two stores are in the same fabric, a link can only access one store at a time, and the other store can only be a backup.
