Network Topology

B16000

Problem Description

Customer feedback after the power down, the management IP configured on the interconnection module is lost, the configuration of vsan, etc. is also lost at the same time, test normal hot reboot and other operations, the configuration of the interconnection module is not abnormal.

Process Analysis

Field test to view the load file for the next boot and find that the boot configuration has two configuration files, startup.cfg configuration and auto.cfg.

The configuration file used for normal client boot is auto.cfg;

The test found that the configuration sent via ssh will be lost after power down, but the configuration sent via web interface will not be lost after power down.

Solution

The auto.cfg configuration file is the configuration file generated by applying over network configuration policies on the web interface. The configuration sent by ssh will be written to auto.cfg, but the configuration needs to be sent through the web interface. If the configuration is not sent, the normal reboot configuration will not be affected, but after power down, it will revert to the original configuration state that has been done by the web interface and will not synchronize the information of ssh configuration.
