Problem Description

The customer has configured two 620F nics. After the server is restarted, one of the nics cannot be identified

1.normal identify

2. After the server is restarted, NIC of slot5 cannot be identified

Process Analysis

The log indicates that the network adapter cannot be recognized. There are three possibilities:

1. The network adapter is improperly connected.

2. The network adapter hardware is faulty.

3. The slot into which the NIC is inserted is abnormal

Therefore, it is best to carry out the following two tests on site:

1. Remove and insert the 620 NIC that cannot be identified. Check whether the NIC can be correctly identified

2. If the fault cannot be identified, replace the two nics and determine whether the fault is the NIC itself or the slot

Solution

1. test on site

(1)Remove and reinsert the slot5 NIC. The fault persists after the server is restarted twice.

(2)Cross the NIC of slot4 and slot5 and find that slot5 is still not recognized.

2.After replacing riser2 where slot5 is located, the problem is resolved.
