FIST version 2.54
OS version CentOS 7.4
Server: R4900 G5
H3C FIST has been installed and after deploying the OS through H3C FIST, the server is unable to boot the OS. The customer has changed the boot sequence to hard disk boot, but still the OS cannot be loaded. When the installation of OS is done through FIST, the task is stuck at 99%. In the logs, it shows uninstalling the image, but this step never completes.
If this error is encountered, first we need to check whether the installed OS version is compatible with the server model and FITS.
After checking, CentOS 7.4 is compatible with both Server R4900 G5 and FIST 2.54.
The customer had other servers of the same model that did not encounter errors installing the same OS, so we collected the SDS logs from the two servers with successful and failed installations for comparison.
After comparison, we found that the first item in the boot order of the failed server installation is Hard Disk, while the first item in the boot order of the successful server installation is CD/DVD
After changing the boot item order to CD/DVD, the operating system can be installed successfully.
Modify the boot order to CD/DVD as the first item.
