mac-trigger no-aware authentication, address pool on core
A local site mac-trigger no-aware authentication, feedback when the terminal obtains the address, neither will pop-up portal nor Internet access, no authentication failure record on the imc.
When the problem is received, first confirm that the faulty terminal is individual, and further confirm whether there is an online table entry on ac with the mac, ip, or username of the terminal as the mac address of the terminal, and confirm by query that there is no relevant table entry on ac. This also excludes the case that ac does not re-initiate authentication because there is already a relevant table entry on ac.
1) As there were over 5,000 online users on the AC at the site, it was decided from a business perspective not to perform debugging queries. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the terminal's IP address pool had been expanded without ensuring a corresponding adjustment to the address range on IMC. The feedback received was that the necessary adjustment was forgotten.
2) It was further confirmed that the faulty terminal's IP address was not within the legitimate address range on IMC.
3) It was confirmed that the issue was due to expanding the IP address pool without adjusting the IP address range on IMC, which caused IMC to perceive the faulty terminal's IP address as invalid and prevented the subsequent authentication process. As it was not yet at the 3A authentication stage, no authentication failure records were displayed on IMC.
Adjusting the corresponding configuration on IMC resolved the issue.
