Problem Description

An AP model WA6636 at a local site occasionally fails to scan the ssid of radio 1 at the terminal.

Process Analysis

1. Scanning with inssider, it is found that the terminal can actually scan the bssid issued by radio 1, but the ssid is hidden.

2. Check the configuration on the device, there is no spectrum navigation-related configuration to hide the SSID of radio 1.

3. Check the device model WA6636 as a tri-band device, both radio 1 and radio 2 work in the 5G band, so it is suspected that the SSID of radio 1 is hidden due to dual 5G load balancing.

4. Check the number of terminals on AC and find that there are 5 terminals on radio 1 and no terminals on radio 2 for the time being, the difference is 5 terminals, which reaches the load balancing threshold.

5. Close the load balancing function to verify that the SSID on radio 1 becomes visible and is no longer hidden.

Solution

It is not a fault problem, it is the normal mechanism of the device.
