Problem Description

For WiFi6 APs, Apple computers (which do not support wifi6) negotiated to 802.11ac, and there was packet loss. In addition, it was no problem to use Windows computers to test, but only Apple computers had problems. After forcing the radio to 802.11an, the Mac works fine. The live Mac version is 10.15.6. Most of the Apple versions have packet loss problems, and the tested computer has serious packet loss. There is no packet loss problem when the Apple computer is connected to other wifi5 APs. The current AC version is the latest 5435p02.

Process Analysis

It has been confirmed that some Apple computers have problems with WiFi6 compatibility and do not support the su-txbf function well.

The su-txbf enable command is used to enable the AP single-user TxBF function.

The su-txbf disable command is used to disable the AP single-user TxBF function.

Use the undo su-txbf command to restore the default.

Command:

su-txbf { disable | enable }

undo su-txbf

Default:

In the radio view, the AP group configuration is inherited.

In the radio view of an AP group, the single-user TxBF function is enabled.

View:

Default User Role:

User guides:

This command is only valid for the Radio in 802.11ac, 802.11gac, 802.11ax, and 802.11gax modes. When the Radio mode is switched to dot11a, dot11b, dot11g, or dot11n, the configuration will be canceled.

Single-user TxBF technology refers to the use of TxBF technology for data transmission between the AP and a single client occupying the current channel. When the single-user TxBF function is enabled, the AP exchanges protocol packets with the current client to obtain the basic information of the channel between it and the client to adjust the parameters of signal transmission so that the same signal transmitted by multiple antennas is superimposed at the receiving end. produce better results. This function is suitable for environments where clients are widely distributed, the quality of the network environment is poor, and the signal attenuation is serious.

The priority of the configuration in the radio view is higher than that in the radio view of the AP group.

Example:

# Enable the AP single-user TxBF function. (Radio view)

<Sysname> system-view

[Sysname] wlan ap ap1 model WA5620i-ACN

[Sysname-wlan-ap-ap1] radio 1

[Sysname-wlan-ap-ap1-radio-1] su-txbf enable

Solution

Disable the su-txbf function for Apple computers.
