B16000 Fan Module Installation Guidelines and Redundancy Policy.
The chassis can install a maximum of 12 fan modules and a minimum of 8 fan modules. • When the installed blade server does not exceed the area 1 and area 2 in the front of the chassis (as shown in Figure 1-2), at least 8 fan modules need to be configured and installed in 1~8 fan slots to support N+1 redundancy. Note that the installation location of the blade server must strictly comply with the blade server installation guidelines. • When the installed blade server starts to be installed in area 3 (as shown in Figure 1-2), it needs to be fully configured with 12 fan modules to support N+1 redundancy. Note that the installation location of the blade server must strictly comply with the blade server installation guidelines.

The instructions for plugging and unplugging the fan are as follows:
1. When the installed blade server does not exceed the front area 1 and area 2 of the chassis 1, at least 8 fan modules need to be configured, and fan need to be installed in 1~8 fan slots, supports N+1 redundancy. When the installed blade server starts to be installed in Area 3 of the chassis 2, it needs to be fully equipped with 12 fan modules to support N+1 redundancy;
2. If the server installed does not exceed area 2, 8 fans are configured, the loss of one fan from 1-8 will not affect the cooling, and the log will record it. However, if two fans from 1-8 are lost, the cooling efficiency will be affected, and an alarm will be generated. At this time, the server can run, and the failed fan needs to be replaced. And if it does not exceed area 2, even if 12 fans are configured, there will be an alarm when two fans in slots 1~8 are unplugged because blade cooling is required first, but unplugging the fans to test at 9/10/11/12 does not trigger redundancy alarm;
3. If the server installed exceeds area 2 ,12 fans need to be configured. At this time, if two fans are unplugged, an alarm will be generated.
