Problem Description

As shown in the figure below, the disc utilisation of the operating system's root partition is abnormal.

Troubleshooting revealed that there are a large number of history backup files in the /opt/matrix/app/data/base-service/backupRecovery/historyFiles/ directory that have not been cleaned up. Normally, when the number of backup files for each component exceeds the set number of files, the earlier component backup files will be cleaned up.

Process Analysis

When the operating system upgrades the openssh version to OpenSSH_8.8p1 and above, the incompatibility between the openssh version and the Unified Digital Chassis backup-pod results in the failure of ssh to the other two nodes (nodes that do not host the backup-pod) within the backup-pod, resulting in the backup files of the other two nodes not being able to be cleaned up. This issue is involved in versions of Unified Digital Chassis before E0613H05 (not included) and before E0707 (not included).

Solution

Workaround:

Use the attached script to clean the backup file periodically. The timed cleanup script is used as follows: 1, put the delete_history_file.sh script into the /opt/matrix/app/data/ directory of the three nodes, the default number of files retained by this script is 3 automatically 3 manually. 2、Execute vim /etc/crontab command, file in the last line to add 0 23 * * * root /opt/matrix/app/data/delete_history_file.sh > /dev/null 2>&1 , and start cleaning up every night at 11 pm.

Solution:

Upgrade Unified Digital Chassis to E0613H05 (inclusive) and above, E0707 (inclusive) and above.
