The R4900 G3 server is configured with retimer/redriver/switch components and NVMe drives.
Under the system, some NVMe drives are not recognized, and in most cases, the first NVMe drive associated with retimer cards such as slot 120/150/170 is not recognized.
In version 3.33, HDM uses the SMBus protocol, which has compatibility issues with the Samsung PM9A3 HDD firmware (GDC55C2Q). This can lead to abnormal in-band recognition. The issue can be resolved by updating the HDM firmware or the Samsung PM9A3 HDD firmware.
Additionally, there are recognition issues with NVMe drives such as P4510, P4610, P4326, P4500, but the corresponding HDD firmware has not been resolved yet. The only solution currently available is to update the HDM firmware.
Upgrade HDM to version 3.36 or later.
