R4900G3 server+ NVMe hard drive
The customer reported that the server crashed after plugging and unplugging the NVME hard drive.
This issue is caused by the VMD function not being turned on in the BIOS. Under normal circumstances, if the VMD function is not enabled in BIOS, the NVME hard drive can only function as a PCI device. Under normal circumstances, PCI devices do not support hot swapping. If the VMD function is enabled and directly controlled by the Intel controller, and the VROC driver under the system is loaded to achieve hot swapping.
At the same time, early versions need to be enabled, and hot swapping functionality can be achieved after BIOS version 2.00.42.
Enable VMD function in BIOS.
