Network Topology

At Customer site we installed 2*WX2880 ACs and 70+ WA6526E APs

Problem Description

After installation and configurations, we observed that some of LAPTOP users which supports WIFI 6 (802.1ax) but they negotiated on 802.11n (WIFI 4).

Process Analysis

After troubleshooting we found that all smart phones are properly negotiated on 11ax, all Apple MAC bools are also connected to 11ax successfully ,

after deep testing we found that Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6E AX211 160MHz are also successfully negotiates on 11ax but only faced this issue on Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6AX201 160MHz NIC cards.

after troubleshooting we found that AC did not received VHT (very high throughput) capabilities in request from Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6AX201 160MHz NIC cards.. So thats why they can only negotiate to WIFI 4.

Solution

to resolve this issue, R&D released ne new version/patch . after applying this patch the issue resolved and WIFI 6 enabled devices can successfully negotiate on 802.11ax.
