Problem Description

Some network cards of the cas front-end cvk host do not display the SR-IOV network card pass-through switch button. The network card model is: Broadcom NetXtreme II BCM57810. Other models of network cards are available.

Process Analysis

1. Some of the different network cards on the same host are displayed, and some are not displayed. This is most likely related to the network card itself.

2. Check the UIS compatibility list to confirm whether it is compatible.

3. Confirm on the hardware side whether the network card supports SR-IOV passthrough

4. After troubleshooting on the software side, it was found that the SR-IOV function was not enabled on the hardware side.

The system did not read the SR-IOV configuration file of the eth1 network card. Other network cards eth2 have this file.

5. Enable the SR-IOV mode of the network card on the server BIOS,In the figure below, Port1 and Port2 belong to the same network card, corresponding to eth0 and eth1 on the CAS, and the modes of the two ports will be changed at the same time.

After reboot, the system can read the SR-IOV configuration file of the eth0 and eth1 network card.

On CAS webpage ,it can display the SR-IOV network card pass-through switch button.

Solution

Enable the SR-IOV mode of the network card on the server BIOS.
