Problem Description

On-site deployment of MSR2680-XS. After the customer configured PBR via the command line and then deleted it using the undo command, they proceeded to test policy-based routing (PBR) configuration on the web interface. However, the policy-based routing configured on the web interface did not take effect.

Process Analysis

Checked the policy-based routing (PBR) configured on the web page, no issues found. After inquiring on-site, discovered mixed command line and web configurations. Informed the on-site personnel that this might be the cause, requiring clearing the configuration and reconfiguring before re-testing

On-site personnel used the reset button on the router web page. After resetting and reconfiguring on the web page, the policy-based routing (PBR) still did not take effect

Logged into the router via command line, cleared using the following method, then rebooted and reconfigured on the web page, successfully taking effect

<H3C>reset saved-configuration
The saved configuration file will be erased. Are you sure? [Y/N]:y #Here, input Y to acknowledge the clearance
<H3C>reboot #Restart device

Solution

MSR does not recommend mixing command line with WEB page configuration

If anomalies occur after mixed configuration, you need to clear the save-configuration settings via command line and reboot for reconfiguration. Resetting only on the web page is ineffective and anomalies will persist
