Problem Description

On-site export of device logs within the first half of the year is currently limited to 20 days, with an upgrade performed on December 10.According to the Release Notes, after upgrading ACG to version 6616, audit logs cannot be viewed on the web page but can be exported via FTP. However, only logs from 2024.9.11 to 2024.12.10 can be exported.

1. When setting the log export time range from 2023.1.1 to 2024.12.29, the actual exported logs cover 2024.9.11 to 2024.12.10.

2. When setting the time range from 2023.1.1 to 2024.9.10, the export prompt shows empty.

Process Analysis

From the upgrade records:

The device on site was upgraded to R6614P11 on May 11, 2024, and then to 6616P05 on December 10. The audit logs began following the 90-day deletion mechanism starting May 11, so the device started deleting historical logs. By the time it was upgraded to version R6616 on December 10, the device had retained exactly 90 days of logs from September 11 to December 10, with earlier logs already cleared. Additionally, the R6616 platform replaced the database implementation, and the web interface now only displays post-upgrade audit logs, with new logs adhering to the log retention period.

Solution

Version 6611 can only export 14 days of logs at a time from the web interface, not from the command line. Logs older than 14 days can only be saved by exporting them externally, but older logs cannot be saved. Therefore, when upgrading to ACG, you need to be mindful of log preservation.
