A certain site uses the ADcampus solution for wired networking, with AP local forwarding deployed as wireless access. The customer reported that after terminal roams between different interfaces of the same access, there is a probability that the gateway cannot ping the terminal. The gateway is located on the leaf, and automatic recovery occurs at irregular timing intervals after a few minutes.
1. After terminal roaming, packet capture via port mirroring on the access device showed that ICMP packets were sent but no reply was received, confirming this is not an AP issue.
2. Flow statistics on the switch side revealed that the ICMP request reached the leaf gateway, and the processor of the leaf device responded to the request, but the response was not sent out from the leaf interface.
3. The R&D team found an error in the command configuration on the device. The issue was resolved after the correction.
After removing the error configuration on the leaf, service roaming returned to normal.
