Problem Description

The SR-IOV virtualization function becomes unavailable when the primary card is configured with the secondary card installed in an SW slot. The riser slot shows no abnormality.

Cause Analysis

When the primary card is deployed with the secondary card in an SW slot, the SR-IOV virtualization function is unavailable. Specifically, separating virtual network ports causes lag, and the number of separated virtual ports does not match the quantity set by the command (only one virtual port can ever be separated), despite the card"s specifications supporting a maximum of 127 virtual ports. Investigation reveals this issue is caused by the NV network card firmware version being lower than 40.47.2682. Versions prior to this do not support this function. Updating to version 40.47.2682 or later restores normal SR-IOV functionality.

Workaround/Solutions

Upgrade the network card firmware to version 40.47.2682 or later to enable the virtualization function.
