When creating a Layer 2 network domain on the SeerEngine-Campus controller, the IPv6 ND Snooping switch is enabled by default. When IPv6 services are not deployed in the Layer 2 network domain, turning on the IPv6 ND Snooping switch will cause the size of the MAC table of the Access device to increase, and there is a risk that the MAC table of the Access device will exceed the specifications.
When the IPv6 ND Snooping switch is enabled on the controller and IPv6 services are not deployed in the Layer 2 network domain, the controller only issues IPv6 ND Snooping configurations to Spine and Leaf devices. In this case, the Spine and Leaf devices process the IPv6 NA packet sent by the terminal and flood the NA packet in the service VXLAN. If terminals in multiple VLANs of the Access device are authenticated and authorized the service VXLAN, the terminal NA messages will be flooded in these VLANs, and then the same Access device learns the same terminal MAC information through different VLANs.
When a large number of terminal NA packets are flooded in the service VXLAN, the size of the MAC table of the Access device will increase. If the MAC table of the Access device exceeds the specifications, it may cause the Access device to operate abnormally.
